Dead Space 3 Chapter 11 locks up

When finishing the optional mision  -  Armoury in chapter 11 the game freezes at the point in the elevator at the end of the mission. The only option is to switch off the PS3 consoles and restart the game and this loses all progress. I have attempted to complete this mission 3 times and the game freezes at exactly the same point each time.
