Dead Space 3 CO OP, PC and PS3

I just got Dead Space 3 on my Pc and my friend have it on his PS3. We both have origin and have connected psn to origin but we can't seem to play together. What is wrong

dude! you cant play on ps3 and pc together.iol
Yeah, which sucks. Valve was able to do it with Portal 2, it seems unfortunate that other companies haven't figured out a way to make this happen.
