"After extensive investigation and work on the dead space sound-glitch, we have to inform you that we can’t provide a fix for this issue. There won’t be a patch or bug-fix for this bug.
As we are not able to reproduce and eliminate this problem, we are looking now even more for possible workarounds, especially from you, our Answer HQ community. We like to apologies and understand that this sound issue disturb the atmospheric immersion of DSIII.
Cheers

Holy crap! I posted in this topic shortly after release with reports of this problem. I've duplicated it on every pc I have played this game on which is 6 **bleep**ing PC's! I came back to play this game today on coop because my buddy got the humble buddle and now hes confirming the issue too! From day 1 all the way to now 6 months after release and this is the crap we get!?! THIS IS HORRIBLE SUPPORT!
Keep this topic alive, this is complete BS!
It won't matter. EA has been pissing of consumers for years. We all know it. Visceral, what remains of the company at least, has moved on to other projects (rumored to have a Star Wars title in the works). I'm sure if given a chance they would try to address the issue but EA's blatant disregard for giving a damn about games that aren't flagship is honestly revolting. If we want to get a fix for the sound issue it will have to come from the community.

Well, seeing as some other person reignited this old thread, I recently got Dead space 3 as well and this sound issue started happening to me as well. Could it be that it happens to the people with surround sound headsets? I know I have one, and since its not happening on console (as far as I know) could it be that simple detail? Or am I just an idiot who doesnt know what he is talking about.

It's a long thread so I don't blame you for not knowing; others including myself have a wide range of sound devices, mostly stereo plugged into integrated solutions, some have nicer cards too, I actually have an option of using HDMI out as well via the video card, I'm now wondering if I should give that a shot just for kicks and giggles. Work has me on the ropes this week but I'll give it a shot next week (I'll need to reinstall again at this point).

I really don't think it has anything to do with what sound card or speaker set you are using. I have 3 sound options (intergrated Realtek, my GTX 670 HDMI sound, and a Sound Blaster X-Fi) and two separate speaker systems on my computer and they all have the same problem.
Also, I upgraded my graphics card from a Radeon HD 5870 to a EVGA Geforce GTX 670 and still had the exact same problem. During the update I erased my SSD and completely reinstalled Windows 8 from scratch so I wouldn't have to deal with any driver issues and this didn't have any effect on the Dead Space 3 door glitch.
