Dead Space 3 on Steam does not work if Limited Edition was owned prior.
The basic summary of the issue is, I have had Dead Space 3 Limited Edition before. Then, I bought it via Steam, to get the Awakened expansion as it was on sale. On Origin, this led to me owning two distinct copies. On EA App, however, the game no longer works, as it puts both of them together. Installing it via Steam will cause it to change to the Standard Edition while the Steam version is installed, and trying to open the game will fail no matter what is done. Installing it via EA App alone will work, but you won't have access to the Awakened DLC. This basically means that I don't have access to something I bought, unless I somehow pirate it, which I am not going to do because I already paid for it.
How can this be fixed?
Edit: I should add that part of the reason I want this resolved is due to coop.
Edit 2: Don't ask me about hardware limitations as this is clearly not the problem if the game already runs if played on the EA App alone. Don't ask me about a clean boot, or compatibility, or anything of that sort. Testing with compatibility was already tried, and the fact the game runs on EA App means that there's no background apps stopping it from functioning, or any cache issues, or any updates from Windows or drivers. I do not overclock or underclock my hardware, so this is not an issue either, and once again, the game runs, the issue is what was described before. This is not a hardware issue, this is a DRM-related issue. All default questions which have been asked before on similar problems either do not apply, or were already tested.
Edit 3: Link2Ea appears to be the hang-up.
