I'm not willing to go back to kit kat for just one app either, but is there a fix in the works? Could you provide a rough ETA, or would that be asking too much?
Download the game in another device, then copy ther folder for your device. It worked for me. I can send you the folder if u want.- There you go:

1 - install game from playstore (do not open after install)
2 - Extract the folder com.ea.deadspace_row from the compressed file
3 - copy the entire folder com.ea.deadspace_row to path "androi/data" (internal / main memory)
4 - voilá. U can thank me later
