Reposting so a solution can be marked:
"Recently I had reactivated my origin account and had the long, temporary EA ID string showing as my name by default.
I hadn't edited my profile to a new short ID yet.
On a hunch my friend suggested I edit it down and I made my shorter current one and lo and behold that was it."
