No mouse cursor and other weirdness

I just bought and installed Dead Space 3 via Origin.  I tried to configure graphics and controls but I have no mouse cursor. Mutiple restarts have no effect.

I'm able to scroll through and edit the options via the keyboard, but I'm not able to Accept (or Cancel) anything.  The mouse is definitely recognized, as it moves the camera around the options 'scene' and occasionally happens to highlght some of the buttons.

I finally managed to start up a game by sheer luck and the mouse behaved normally in game.  However, I noticed that the game isn't rendering things like Isaac's health meter, weapon muzzle flashes or door locks. Related?

I updated my video card drivers: no difference.

I installed the AMD 13.2 Beta drivers.  Still no difference.

Considering this is supposed to be a AAA title (and my first purchase on Origin) I am seriously not impressed.

Windows 7 64bit

Core2 Quad 2.4ghz

AMD Radeon HD 6950 2GB

    Hi bankbangladesh!

Okay I will provide you several workarounds, please check this steps and keep us updated:

Go to your custom settings of your video-card software. Disable all extra options for enhanced graphics and set the preferences for AA and anisotropic to “use application settings”.

Set the DS3 graphic options to “low quality” or reduce AA and anisotropic filtering to a minimum.
Launch the game, if the issue is solved, you can try to set the graphic options step by step higher.

Try to run the game in "windowed mode" and test it for a while.

Please note: Even if your system specs should be totally fine for running DS3 in high resolution, there are sometimes graphic setups which can cause issues on several systems.

Right click in Origin under "my games" on the Dead Space 3 icon and choose "Repair".

You can try to run the Client under the Windows 7 compatibility mode. The Windows 7 compatibility mode is running as x86, and helped in a few cases to solve this issue.

    Please keep us updated!
