I have had this issue before with other games. The issue is not my graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GT 650M) or any other components in my computer. The problem that I have been having is the fact that my computer seems to have issues with some games that like to launch in full screen mode. So what I am trying to do here, is to get a system.txt folder from someone so that I can change the game to windowed mode without having to launch the game. I appreciate your response to my problem, but I am going to need some further help. I don't know if you are able to give me a link to a download of a system.txt file for this game or not, but i believe that this will help my issue.

Try the following to be sure your discrete GPU is being used rather than the on-board IGP.

    1. Open the nvidia control panel
    2. Manage 3D settings, Program settings tab
    3. Click add to choose the program to customize
    4. Click browse and choose: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dead Space 3\deadspace3.exe
    5. Set your graphics preferences and click apply.

Let me know if this does not help you.
