Re: Deathloop, died while saving unable to stop

Okay there’s a way out of it but it’s a pain.

Important steps to follow:
Requires disconnecting controller after seeing the epilepsy warning and make sure you don’t have a bluetooth headset connected because it will make the ps5 overlay stick.

Whenever you fail the attempt you’ll need to close the application and begin again.

I was able to get out of the death loop by disconnecting the controller, reconnecting ~3 seconds after hearing the flatlining sound, and pressing X right before being able to see the message “your controller is disconnected.”

If done correctly you will see the menu and be able to scroll down to load game. Be aware not to select the main menu option like I did or you’ll be thrown back into the death loop again.

It took me like 100 tries to get it right but it works and is easy after you get used to the strict timing.

I was apparently killed just before an auto-save and now the game just cycles through loading the death and repeating. Tried deleting local storage, but no luck. Tried removing Quick-Resume for the game, but no luck. 

Totally stuck :0(

Ok, this is weird. I posted a new topic because my issue, while the same as the OP in this topic, just on Xbox Series X, yet my post got moved under this topic. I guess that's fine, just note that the problem is on Xbox, not PS5.

Yeah this was supposed to be my topic regarding the PS5 but it looks like a mod may have changed it.

In your case I would delete my cloud and storage auto save files it should be possible on the Xbox but NOT the PS5.

The latest auto save should be the culprit.

Hi @Gear2ndGandalf @Homish1 To confirm are you unable to hit the pause menu after a death load to select to load a previous save? if not would it be possible to get a clip of this happening we can share with the team?

Hey boss, yes I was unable to hit pause as a bad auto save locked me in a death loop.

I was able to get myself out of the death loop by following that video but I didn’t bother recording myself doing this. I was on the PS5.

It seems like you get less than a split second to press pause at the right time to get a menu going.

You will likely encounter the bug if you get killed while running past opening and closing doors or anything that will trigger an auto save while in combat.

Some other players said they encountered the bug while saving manually with an enemy nearby too!

Correct @EA_Illium. I can't hit the pause button to get the menu that would allow me to select a previous save.

Same on my Series S - the loading screen just ends and starts again with the death flatline sound. I cannot interact at all to load my manual save file - it just keeps loading my auto save by default. I reinstalled the game but I still get thrown into the same loading screen loop when I start it up. Please fix this!

Same exact broken game issue I’m dealing with. 

Crazy how I’m dealing w the same issue on Ps5 and EA doesn’t acknowledge that they screwed up. I’d like to keep the game and get a refund bc this is wild. That or give me a damn discount.
