Re: [Old Report] Dead Space 2 won't launch from EA App

Hi @EA_Shepard

The URL you shared points to a HTTP-download that is blocked by my browser, as it cannot be downloaded securely (requiring HTTPS, I presume). Regardless, there is no trace of SECUROM on my computer anyhow as far as I know.

Furthermore, removing everything in %temp% is something you already had me try before (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Dead-Space-Games/Dead-Space-2-won-t-launch-from-EA-App/m-p/12465196#M17207), and that did not work.

Additionally, I see someone has marked @DamndAssassin9 's reply as the accepted solution, but he clearly ran into the 10-core limitation. In my original post, I clearly mentioned that this is NOT applicable to my problem:

"In other support articles, I found mentions of CPU's with more than 10 cores not being supported very well, but I'm running on a quadcore CPU so that's not to blame."

For clarity, the focus of this topic should be on the EntitlementNotFound issue alone. Can someone un-mark that reply as the accepted solution for this forum topic, please? My issue is NOT solved.
Edited to add: maybe the topic title should be edited to include the keyword 'EntitlementNotFound', but I don't seem to be able to edit that myself

@JuanRemorquez Theitr post marked as a solution is because it has helped others resolve their specific issue, not the entirety of the post itself. This thread does have more than one issue on it which is why the thread itself is not based on one single issue.

Older titles like this used different programs due to the number of times you can install the game, how many computers it could be installed on etc. If you have no trace of that on your PC, then you don't need to install the removal tool.

EntitlementNotFound Error has been escalated to the team for review, having live support remove the game and add a fresh one is only one step. The steps that were provided are steps that should be done in these situations because a simple uninstall does not remove all files from Windows, so these will be posted more than once as steps to get rid of any leftover files that are not removed from removal tools, or registry cleaners.

  • Hi @EA_Shepard

Thanks for clarifying. I also owe you additional thanks for moving my case up - I really appreciate the assistance from your side.

Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten any Advisor response on my case, despite your intervention of three days ago. The case has now gone unanswered for 17 days already, whereas updating the game version really sounds like a three-minute-task.

Like you said, updating the game version is just a single step in our troubleshooting journey. I really want to continue troubleshooting with you, but waiting for this single step has brought our momentum down to zero for several weeks now.

I would like to know the current status of my case (in more detail than just "In Progress", because it does not appear to be progressing). It would be nice to stay informed like that, or even to get an estimated timeframe for resolution.

    Kind regards
