[Steam] Dead Space 3 new game+ rewards auto-unlock

Whenever I start a new save file I immediately receive rewards for completing Hardcore and Pure survival modes, despite not actually having completed them. Not only does this make me unable to start a fresh save file but I also can't get the achievements for those modes as the game thinks I have already done them.

My username is GarethTheUnlucky.

I play Dead Space 3 on steam.

I first encountered the bug on April 6th, 2024.

I've tried everything to fix it, from deleting old save files to deleting the game and even trying to reinstall the EA app. So far nothing worked.

    I sorta fixed it. Created a new account and linked it to the game. The issue did not persist upon starting a new save file on the new account

    Thanks for this. This does help. When you create a new game, did you do anything differently, or did you just start a new game and jump in!

    @GarethTheUnlucky can you describe how you did that?
    I have no problems on creating a new EA account registered to different e-mail but whenever I start a game from Steam my old EA account (old one, where all my games are) is launched automatically

    @GarethTheUnlucky Would love to see what you did on this one as well so we can notate that one for others. I tend to try to avoid a new EA account if I can that way all your data is still there and you don't start all games over!

    Nope, besides linking my new account to the game - I did nothing differently. Didn't reinstall the game, verify game cache etc. Even ran the same settings as before.

    I went to my old account's settings, then went to the "Connections" tab and unlinked it from steam. After launching the game, it gave me the prompt to enter my new account info.
