Why Dead Space 4 Should Still Be Made
Even after the firing of Visceral Game, Dead Space 4 should still be created. I'll be going into reasons of why the game should still be made five years after Dead Space 3. So, first off, the game is a beloved series that has gained the interest and hearts of some if not a good portion of not only EA members, but horror fans as well. Although the third entry to the series was not believed to carry the same scares as the others, it still received good ratings. IGN and Metacritic both gave the game a 7.8 out of ten, which is very close to being considered great. This game was way more than just "good" despite some disappointed hard core Dead Space fans' opinions. Why drop a series if it is still beloved to this day? And why end the series with a cliffhanger? Which brings me straight into my second reasoning; the latest entry to the franchise held an undefinite ending. It felt like it was setting up the last entry to the series, in which we never got. And with the DLC comes theories; was the ending real? Was any of the DLC real? I mean the chapters spelled out RIP, but who died? Before the ship "crashed", the effect that would come before a hallucination appeared. Does this mean the moons were not there yet? Why put this effect in when it's only used for hallucinations? Dead Space 4 should have, and still can wrap up the series beautifully. We still want and need another game to close off the franchise. The next game should not end on a cliffhanger, and Issac should finally be able to have the break he deserves ALIVE with Ellie like it was set up to be at the end of Dead Space 2.
Now I would like to go into my own theory for how the series could close. The ending of "Awakened" is revealed to be nothing more but a figment of Issac's imagination. They land on Earth and warn everyone about the bretheren moons. Issac is reunited with Ellie and they take the fight to space, taking over horded planet crackers and using them against the moons. I believe instead of Issac and/or Ellie dying, Carver will, since he believes he has nothing else left to live for and he will sacrifice himself or something like that.
- I'd love to see a Dead Space 4, unfortunately, I am not aware of any current plans for one but stranger things have happened.
