xbox 360 freezing issues and Time slot for patch and suggested ui addition?

Hi. im riks reverse. Let me start off by saying I love dead space, and wish only the best for it. That being said, when I played dead space 3, it suffered from major freezing issues. I have the limited addition copy for xbox. I clear my cache like you told others to do, and that worked for awhile, about an hour. I then noticed I can bump that time up to two hours by going to the in game bench and dismantling my limited edition extra guns. I don't know why this worked, but it did. However, it still freezes, and for some reason some of the auto saves don't work, and it sets me back really far in the game. I think many would love to know when or around the time, you guys will patch the game. And I do think you owe it to the people who bought this game around launch. However, despite my problems with dead space 3, I still love your guy's work. 🙂 and from what iv been able to play, dead space 3 is amazing. I do want to suggest that you guys add in the options menus a way to turn off the auto save. I think it could be a fun way to play the game, and also, I think the auto save causes the game to crash.

Thanks for your time,

riksreverse

Hi, my 360 GamerTag is IB O IR ID O.  I too love Dead Space and since 2008 I have had an amazing time with the franchise.  Except for the sound bug issue, my single-player playthrough of Dead Space 3 was great.  Since then I've been working on a co-op playthrough with my son.  A couple of days ago, though...the game froze on me during Chapter 18 right after I was returning from the point you go to and then have to return (trying to keep it spoiler free there ; ) ).

I had to reboot the Xbox360.  It froze again and again at the same point (that point being a checkpoint).  I turned to the internet to see that others (on all systems and PC) are having the same problem (BUT, some have no issues at all).  I tried again yesterday after clearing the system cache and re-installing disc 2, etc.  Still freezes.  I decided to do a test.  I played from that point single-player in hopes of getting past the crash point and then going back to co-op afterwards.  My son did the same thing.  I froze and he did not.

There is a major difference between his save file and mine.  I have created almost all of the weapons from the given blueprints, he has not.  My safe has a scroll-bar because I have so many items in it, his does not.  I didn't have any item in my safe during the single-player game except for the spent "gun" that you have to create to advance the story.  I also had all my DLC shut-off so as to experience the game, my first time, as vanilla as possible.  This time, I had everything on.  I realize that the problem is a combination of MY save file not meeting the muster to get past the checkpoint where it freezes.  I realize that my only option is to restart my co-op game and play it very vanilla-like.  Hey, it ain't the end of the world and it's not like I wasn't going to play it several times anyway.

My question is the same of the OP.  When is Dead Space 3's second patch going to drop that addresses game-freezing issues?  I bought 3 copies of this game along with all the DLC packs for all 3 copies.  I feel a bit like a doormat with what i now consider to be a very "sensitive game" in terms of maximized playability.  Everywhere I go, I get the same answer: "It's an EA game.  Didn't you expect that?"  Actually, I didn't.  Dead Space 1 & 2 (for the 360 at least) were rock solid games and I don't recall experiencing a single issue.  It is appearing to me that what was developed in Dead Space 3 was either 😇 too ambitious -or- (b) not fully tested.

    Regards,

    IB O IR ID O

P.S.  If anyone can point me to a site, thread, etc. where EA has acknowledged and is talking about patching the freezing issue for those players that actually want to play the game as it is intended (i.e. crafting weapons), I'd appreciate a reply indicating the place of that discussion.
