All romance options and dialogue removed from the game!

I had this issue the last time I played and as a consequence didn't finish the playthrough. I thought a second playthrough may fix the problem but once again it seems all possible romance related dialogue has been removed from the game. It simply doesn't exist! There is not even a hint of a flirt between any of the characters. And yes i've done everything correctly. It totally ruins the game as I cant feel connection to the characters and theres obviously a lack of love. I always focus attention on Morrigan, all the diologue options for romance are gone and I remember from previous playthroughs that I have not done anything differently. Even her having full approval and having done her quest.

I havent been able to find this problem anywhere else on the internet! Its so frustrating. On Xbox 360 by the way.

    Hi sirrgawain,

    There are several reasons why Morrigan will not complete a romance with the Grey Warden.

    First and foremost, Morrigan will only romance a male character so if your character is female the romance can't be completed.

    If you're a male character, maybe at some point you said something that "broke" the romance quest (Don't be too lovey dovey with her!) It is very important to pick up the right dialogues choices at the right time to complete the romance with her. Getting her approval very high can lead you to an intimate relationship early in the game but doesn't guarantee she will reciprocate your feelings afterwards.

    As a matter of fact, as Thandalnlyman explained, once her approval is sky high, she will refuse intimacy. The romance system in DAO is pretty tricky. I would recommend you to read a Romance FAQ just to make sure you're not accidentally saying something wrong to her and come back to a previous save if possible.

  • Completing Morri's PQ,
(giving her Flemeth's "real" Grimoire)
closes out the Romance path with her.

    She'll have an Approval Rating of 100, but she will refuse to engage any more... intimately.

    This isn't a bug, it's by-design.

    There was no engaging of an intimate kind at all even before I finished the quest. I exhausted all dialogue options but there was nothing. It's also the same for all other possible romances. I remember on previous playthroughs that the player tends to be propostioned somewhat by the characters. And this simply doesn't happen. I talk to all of them every chance I get and being experienced I know how to win certain characters over. I cannot find an explanation to this problem.

  • Hey Eve;

    It's just "Thandal".  My full BioWare member name was "Thandal N'Lyman", but with the integration to the EA environment subtleties like spaces and apostrophes were lost. 😕mileyfrustrated:

    Duly noted Thandal! Yes, we know about the lack of spaces and apostrophes. That's why I use to sign my message because "eaeve" sounds a bit weird. Hopefully this will get fixed in the future.
