AMD Omega driver ?

Just found out about this one and downloading it right away! Does it actually boost performance in games and/or DA:I ??

  • it is difficult to say because there was a patch at the exact same moment. drivers often improve performance and these should be good.

currently, im running a test on old drivers vs new regarding the flora popin abomination thats been a major factor for me since the patch. my laptop has a 7970m with the old drivers vs my desktop with a 295x2 with new drivers. if the flora popin is not present on my laptop...these new drivers may be getting performance gain by nerfing flora in which case id pretty much have to slap a fool up at AMD.

if the popin is only a problem from the patch, then i hope bioware fixes it because no1 is really complaining about it to give it the attention it deserved, as its ugly as hell.

  • I just tested new drivers vs old drivers. New  AMD drivers are NOT responsible for the bad flora popin issue, and i got a performance improvement of about 5% lol which isnt that great but better than nothing. Updating them seems to be just a good thing.

  • I can confirm that the drivers + patch did make DAI run smoother on my R9 290.Didn't it also bring Mantle to work properly with this game?

Yep, all settings turned to 'ultra' except Full HBAO (I use prefered HBAO) and multisampling turned off (cause I don't see differences..). FPS before Omega driver with Mantle 37-45 and with Omega 53 - 66. Results are from ingame test utility. Also I turned on v-sync. So it seems legit.
