I know they can be found in the Hissing Wastes, but where? I've been all over.
Just realised the whole place is sand, so I didn't understand the 'sandy bits' part. 😕mileyvery-happy: But, I do thank you as I finally found 1. I wandered around a bit, but the 1 was all I could find so I headed back to Skyhold and planted it right away.
Okay, thanks. Maybe I just need to look a little harder and quit using the horse as much.

I know this topic is old, but just in case anyone is still having this issue: there are at least 3 nodes in the Empty Square (next to a tomb) south of the Logging Camp in the Hissing Wastes.
If you go to Hissing Wastes and start at the Canyon Camp, then walk directly to the "Let's Slay the Beast" marker on the map. It's towards this red cave off on the distance. I found 4 amrita veins in about 30 seconds of walking. Then I found 2 more as I got closer to the red cave thing (it's a rock structure with a reddish light). Then I found 1 more slightly to the right of the rock structure, about 100 or so feet to the right. If you see this woman standing alone with the name of Hunter, you're in the right area (she's right before the red rock).
This was my path. I found 7 total.
