an error occurred applying the 1.04 update to your version of dao 34

so after many years i wanted to come back to DAO, I've modded it and all, i launch the game and i see that witch hunt (and other mods requiring version 1.04) doesn't work, so i google 1.04 patch download it and launch it and that's what i see:

an error occurred applying the 1.04 update to your version of Dragon Age: Origins [34]

internal error: an unknown error has occurred [34]

now it just says:

Running external installer for 'RTPatch'...This may take a few moments

any help?

Also i had no trouble with 1.03, but the same error occurred with 1.05
