Are Origins really the best Dragon Age game?

Because I'm really struggling to get through it, I was ready to ride it out if it meant I'd enjoy II and Inquistion more, but now that I read they're noticeably worse I don't know if it's worth it. Are there any other party-based, medievalish fantasy games https://tweakbox.mobi/? Preferably turn based, but not necessarily.

The question is, were did you read that? Because that is highly subjective.

Imho they are not, (But then, I like them all) 😛
My personal favourite is DA II, but many will disagree. Well, taste is different. 😉

The Witcher series, Badures Gate 1 & 2 are some really good games.

  • I personally think Origins is the best Dragon Age game, but many players are turned off by the slower paced combat. Dragon Age II is considerably faster. Dragon Age Inquisition feels a lot more modern in design. They're all quite different from each other.

Do JRPGs apply? If so, Dragon Quest XI ticks those boxes. I also really like the Trails series, starting with Trails in the Sky. It has dragons, magic, is party-based, and has turn-based combat.

I have seen this come up a lot with other games too. A lot of players are put off by the slow pace due to the majority of games now are more fast paste games. Even turn-based ones you speed up. When FF 15 was released, I thought they did a great job on combat, but when I go back to Origins for example, I feel myself getting slightly impatient because I expect that speed and not taking my time.

I love Origins and recently started playing again just for achievements I don't have but once you get into it, you start to slow down and enjoy it more. Dragon Quest is also an amazing game.
