Avoiding Bull/Dorian Romance

I am just re-starting an Inquisition play-through (never done the DLC!), and I want to avoid the Dorian/Bull romance.

I know in the main game, if you just don't have them in the party, the romance will never fire.  But if this is the case - is the romance in Trespasser automatic?  Or will it only happen if they romance in the base game?

Thanks in advance 🙂

  • @asakti As far as I'm aware it will only carry over if it has been triggered in the main game. 🙂

  • Why do you want to avoid it?

From that standpoint, I can understand because personally I can't imagine them together despite all that fan art I see online which is dubbed "Adoribull" I just don't like it.

I think the only reason why I don't like it is because I'm a fan of Bull and the only person I want to see riding him is my Inquisitor! She will always be is kadan.

All that really happens between them is there will be banter between the two of them if you take them both along and none of it will be mentioned unless you have enough approval from both.

The best advice I can give is if you don't want Bull and Dorian to get together, you'll have to romance one of them yourself or just don't take the two of them together when you head out.

@LadyFrollo- when I first played the game, I found the dialogue from Bull towards Dorian very off-putting.  I am not sure I would call it, 'abusive' (that others have), but I don't find it cute or romantic.  So, mainly - I just want to avoid the whole thing.  Easy enough to do in the main part of the game, but if I am going to have to see it in Trespasser, then I will be really disappointed.

  • Like the first person said, I'm pretty sure the romance will not automatically happen in trespasser if they did not have a romance in the main game campaign. I played Trespasser on my Cullen file and made sure Bull and Dorian were not in the same party to start the romance, and they did not have the romance in Trespasser either.

  • Thanks for the replies - am now playing Trespasser, and can confirm - no romance triggered as long as the "romance" never started in the base game.  So, if anyone is super late to playing the DLC like me, that may help. 🙂
