Bugged quest Map of Farmland Cave in Hinterlands

I've completed this quest, still standing in the spot where you locate and loot the detected item, but the quest will not update I was told to load a previous save and try again, well I loaded a save from 10 hours of gameplay earlier and went to try to complete the quest again, only to have it not update as completed again. What the hell?
