Can I reset Dragon Age Keep, or it's default Characters?

First, I'm really sorry if this was already answered, but I wasn't quite able to find an satisfying answer myself. In the Keep, I've changed the character biographies of some default heroes, and it's bothering me to no amount for a few months now. I'm also not able to just copy and paste the descriptions, because the standard texts for the characters are longer than what is usually allowed.

So is there a possibility to just reset the entire keep, or even better, the default heroes altogether? Thanks in advance for any possible hints.

  • IF you are just looking for a default state for the next game, then simply don't import a character and it will use default....if you mean something else, then sorry, and maybe a bit more info on what you want.

Descriptions for your characters in the Keep isn't all that important other than to keep them separated, as It to my knowledge doesn't get imported into any games.  So other than maybe changing names and modding your tapestry, you really don't need to have all that much info with them....

@drecem Hey, so what @mcsupersport said is pretty accurate, This link may help as well. There are only a handful of options in the keep you can do to "reset" the things you want to.

First, if you go to the settings on the left and go through each section and make changes.

You can also delete all world states, and then use the replay option to make all the changes you want and save them. This will resync the choices and update any info since the last time you played.

So far, thank you for your tips until now. I've attached a few screenshots of the section that I'm having trouble with.

To clarify, there is no trouble with the importing of saves into Inquisiton, and i'm fully aware that I don't "need" the Info on the default heroes in the keep, like @mcsupersport already and rightfully mentioned.

It even generates the very same texts for every ingame created hero, I just can't get the state of two of the default descriptions out of my mind. The Tapestry and world states are all working as intended, it's just that as far as I know, the Heroes don't revert back to "default", even if I delete all world states and use the replay option. That's why I wanted to know if I could just completely nuke all data related to the keep somehow.

Welp, there is really no need for you to waste more time with this nonsense, but again, thanks for taking time to try and help out 🙂

I still don't understand what you're trying to achieve.? 🤔

You can delete any Hero you have and choose a new one for your existing world stats, customized or default, and then edit the character description as you see fit.

The character limit for a description is 1000 characters, so you can copy and paste any existing description to any other Hero.

    @holger1405

That of course would be good thought, and I tried it again to confirm it was not my mistake the first times around.

Unfortunately, taking Mage-Hawke for example, her standard description seems to have over 1300 characters, and is even cut off in the middle if you try to edit it. So...there goes this approach :/

Nontheless, thank you for the tip!

  • That description is just for flavor and doesn't effect gameplay at all, to my knowledge.  the main reason it is there is roleplaying and being able to tell the difference between characters.  Meaning you can remove the default description and add a quick blurb so you can know which of your characters this run was from at a glance.

Personally, I just ignore that part totally, and only care about the name of the uploaded characters....

Of course Bioware bent the rules for themselves....DMs always cheat....
