Can't buy ability upgrades
I have an ability point to spend, but the game won't let me spend it on an ability upgrade, only on another main ability. What am I doing wrong here?

@DonCorleone75 A bit obvious, but safer to check, do you actually have the ability you're trying to upgrade?
What system are you on, and if it's PC or current gen console, do you have Trespasser installed? (If you have Trespasser, upgradable abilities have a choice of 2 upgrades, but once you upgrade you don't need to spend another point to switch to the other option). If PC, any mods? Also if on PC, have you tried doing a repair? Right click the game in Origin and select 'repair game'.
