Haha 2 years later, same problem, still not resolved or even adressed :eahigh_file: me and a friend just wanted to play it and become ranked just for fun but I guess that dream is dead. It's a shame time and resources are spent on MP instead of the single player content and then it doesn't even work as it should :'D
Haha another year later! Have to apologize for my tone (much) earlier, I was probably awake at 5 am struggling with this and getting frustrated, all my bad! Didn't mean to offend!
Me and my friend were and are both on PC, same versions of the origin client and game. We were both able to see that we were online and playing the game, but could not add or join each other to a room or game at all. The closest we ever got to a solution was fiddling with the Origin in game function which was an issue to others, but this was all too long ago now to tell specifics. Still haven't been able to play the MP since 2014 but I can live with that. I'm not looking to have a solution in my lap by tomorrow at this point, or ever really. Hoping for Dragon Age 4 news this year, cheers!

Me and my friends bought the game aswell and fixed the problem.
We have tried everything, from reinstall game to everything with connectivity.
We were almost done with searching cause no one had the right answer for us.
But we got it! hope its the same for you guys.
The answer was very simple.
The first time you play multiplayer you need to play a prologue.
When you choose for create lobby you see: "Enter proving grounds" or something like that.
Everyone needs to play this proving ground first or you got different data.
We bought this game with 4 people, 1 of us had this problem.
He played the proving grounds, and the problem was solved.
Its weird that the prologue doesnt start immediatly or that they send you towards the proving grounds.
