Can't talk with NPCs correctly
I'm having issues talking with npcs. Sometimes I can start the conversation but not respond, however, most of the time I cannot even start a conversation. (Meaning I walk to them and push x and nothing. Happens).

Found a response that seemed to help for at least one of the NPCs I was having a problem with:

I'm playing the updated edition, in which some things are different from what is described online online, like the names of the skills, etc.
However, I am having this problem but only with one player: Gauld in the village of Crestwood. He turns and faces at me when I try to talk to him, but he says nothing. No dialog box opens up either. does anyone know the fix for this, if there is one question mark I have tried exiting the game and reloading, but that doesn't help.
