Can't use Quick heal, or injury kits, in or out of combat.

One of my companions was downed during combat, because i couldnt use the health potion. I clicked at least 20 times, and it would say, for a breif second, health potion, under the characters health bar. but nothing would happen, even with the mana potions. so i tried to use an injury kit on them after the battle, and it wont let me use it, like nothing happens at all. I do have some mods, but very few, and its been like that since the first time i played it. how do i fix this?
