Completely locked out of Iron Bull romance - 77 hours in. :\

So, I began the game with the intention of romancing Iron Bull.  Recruited him.  Flirted with him every chance I got.  Did his mission.  Talked to him everytime I was at Haven or Skyhold (usually the only option I had with him was "goodbye")  Brought him with me on every mission.  He never showed any interest in me, however.

Just come to find out that him and Dorian are in a relationship...   Absolutely no idea how that happened, or what I did wrong.  Is this a glitch?  Is there any way to salvage this?  (really hope so.  As I said, I'm 77 hours in.  I love how my Inquisitor turned out, but I also really want to romance Bull)
