Another alternative is to ALT+TAB out of and then back into the game. This also fixes mouse issues at the war table and when a dialogue wheel doesn't pop up at all.

I'll try this but im very weary about minimizing this game, sometimes when I do the full screen window will freak out when i alt tab back into it and force it in and out of window mode and full screen about 3 times then it just sits in windowed mode with large black bar artifacts flickering over the screen forcing me to restart the game. Doesnt happen all the time but its frequent enough... are you guys just playing on window mode all the time or something?
No, I've been playing full screen. I haven't had any problems minimizing so far.
