Crashes when I switch party members.

So, I've been playing Dragon Age Origins recently, trying to refresh my memory before Inquisition comes out. It's been great, but I keep running into the same problem. Sometimes when I'm in a semi-large fight, my game will crash to desktop whenever I switch party members. It's happened fighting the Revenant in the Redcliffe Courtyard, helping the refugees on that one Chanter's Board quest, fighting one of those groups of bandits outside Lothering, and most recently a fight with the cultists in the Ruined Temple. I'll pause the game and try and switch characters to give them orders, and it's gone. The only solution I've found is to beat the fights while only controlling one character, which is not always easy.

Now, I'm playing on PC, so I have a whole bunch of mods installed. Dragon Age Redesigned, Improved Atmosphere, Extra Dog Slot, all the big standouts. I know that's going to make diagnosing my problem a lot more difficult, but I was hoping one of you may at least be able to point me in the right direction. I yanked out Improved Atmosphere, as that seemed the most likely culprit, but it didn't fix it. My PC is very powerful, and I've never had problems playing DAO on maxed out settings before. I've been trying to ignore this, but it's seriously interfering, and I need to try and fix it. Any ideas?

Hey, for any instability issues the first step is usually to remove mods, especially if you have multiple running at once. I understand that you might want to avoid this, so it's worth running the Origin repair function on the game - right click the panel to get the option- first, just in case it's a damaged base game file.

Another thing that might help is to check your reliability monitor for matching DAO crashes. The crash report might point to the troublesome mod, if it is indeed a mod.

I'm going to try and disable as many mods as I can, and see if that fixes it. I tried out the reliability monitor, and it couldn't find a solution. I checked out the crash reports, and they are all identical. Can you make anything out of this?

Ah, unfortunately that's just a generic crash, not pointing to a particular mod.
