That didn't work, but when you mentioned stereo, I tried Windows find and fix audio playback problems and found the audio special effects of theatre mode was on so set all to default and it works fine now. Thanks.

This does sound like a symptom of the game outputting in surround sound, but it shouldn't do that on a 2.1 setup.

Some people have reported that setting dynamic range to 'headphones' fixes this issue. have you tried this?
