Yeah, I see what you mean. Unlike DA2, one can't specify the Renderer for DAO in the config settings.
But the other observation in the above posts may still apply. What screen resolution can your monitor handle? What is it set at in the config? What happens if you set both to 1920x1080? (Or whatever is "standard" HD for your screen.)
i've tried every screen resolution available it still put the same error failed to detect a supported video card
