Same problem. Nvidia card.
Turned off AO, played in Windowed Fullscreen. Game ran smoother, for a time. The only real difference is that instead of an error message I now have a white screen. Hopefully some sort of fix soon, as much as I am enjoying this game, continually having to re-do cutscenes/war table stuff is starting to grate.
I have the exact same problem.
First I had random crashes with a Direct X error I couldn't even read and could only escape the situation by using task manager. Then I read about this error on the forums so i checked if my card was overclocked (it wasn't), set the graphic settings to minimum, disabled origins in game and played in windowed mode. With this I could play a bit, but the crashes still kept going, this time no Direct X error message, only a white screen. Now I'm at a point where I get the white screen crash immidiately after my latest game loading finishes. Still waiting for a patch to fix this, at least the problem is acknockledged.
