Was getting this error every five minutes, game was unplayable even though previously it was fine (played 10 hours over a few days before I suddenly started getting this issue) . Tried pretty much everything on this forum from updating graphics drivers, full uninstall of graphic drivers and reinstall of beta drivers from ATI, reinstall directx, reinstall ms visual c++, different levels of graphics qualities in game .... None of which worked. Read under-clocking worked for some so decided it might be a voltage issue. Have an hd7970 so went to catalyst control centre, performance, AMD boost (or something like that), upped my voltage by 3%.....played for 5 hours, 3 crashes. Would be better with no crashes but still, a lot better than every 5 mins.
Card never got over 60 degrees Celsius, fan at 70%, crashes seem random.
