Possible solution for nVidia Users (AMD users need to check if they have a similar option):
Enable adaptive v-sync: go to nvidia control panel > manage 3D settings > program settings > select dragon age inquisiton and enable adaptive vsync.
Solution that worked for me:
Disable Origin when playing DA:I. To do so, download "Outcome", it's a tool that patches your games and removes the Origin requirement, making it possible to run the games independently from Origin.
hello all, just got this error for first time last night. ever since i upgraded my video card 8 mos. ago this game has been great!!! but once i did a fresh win 10 install i've had issues with all kinds of games... so i decided tonight to do a fresh video driver install on my nvidia 960, and everything seems normal till i see an old * physx driver????
the new version is 915, and the old version was 91.1.1111 (or something liek that...)
that could be the prob, i've been installing a bunch of older games and maybe one of them installed old physx.
it's something for u guys to check... i know it seems too easy, but i've been crashing after starting a new game and beating the first boss oyu face and it shows the tear in the sky and right after, when u are to wake up, RIGHT BEFORE i get the crash to desktop error...
another thing i have thats kinda weird is when setting my res in this game, i have these options for the highest res at the top of all selections-
1920x1080 23.99hz
1920x1080 24.00hz
1920x1080 54.99hz
and next it SHOULD be the 60hz option but its not...
1920x1080 54.99hz (again?) IDK if its a win 10 thing or the win 10 nv drivers>>>???
but i will let u guys know if the physx fixed me issue....
cheers.

I am using a GTX 680. Set everything to "Medium" in graphics options. Turn off anti-aliasing. No more crashes and you won't notice the difference visually. Or you can buy a new video card. I would rather not. Choice as always is yours.
Cheers!
