I'm having the same exact problem. I've been playing the game for three weeks without any problems (except the occasional lag and long loading screens) and when I installed the patch earlier this week I began getting the DirectX error message. Totally sucks, and I have no idea how to fix it.

same problem !!!! and no idea how to solve it.

  try to do this way :
  go to : C:\Users\username\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save
  and erase the files : ProfileOptions
  restart the game...
  it worked for me !
