[Discussion] Mage companion for killing dragons
I've played through twice as a mage. The second time, I relied on 3 strong melee companions to kill dragons, while I kept my companions alive with my mage This time, I'd like to play through as a 2-handed weapon melee. But that means I need one of the mage companions to keep myself and the other 2 melee companions alive. My question is, can I rely on Solas to stick around. I seem to recall, he keeps disappearing partway through the game.
Other than their specialist tree, you can spec all mages the same if you want too.....personally I like Dorian as a follower the few times that I wasn't running a mage or wanted 2 mages. I usually start with Solas and then use Dorian once I can get him, but to each his own. I have used 2 mages, sword and board, and a thief on many occasions....big booms, lots of magic flying and things dyin.....Guess it would depend on your playstyle and what difficulty being played.....
Yeah, Solas bolts later in game.....so don't plan on him being there at the end.
