I want a definite answer does da:i break ones hardware through 100% cpu usage - overheat (down trhottle (hardware damage) 50% ram usage potential overheat over extended usage ssd dwm denuro? **ble...
After reading comments here (and first thinking I had FPS issues, while it's just the game having issues and my FPS is fine), the game is just poorly optimized, so no it work break your PC.
It will however eat every resource it can because, be glad if you can play the game without much hickups then too (as I could before patch).
Motherboards now adays have built in protection for overheating RAM and Processors, risk is minium.
However all of us should ban together and start punishing game devolopers for releasing games which are obviously still actually in Beta state and making us pay for basically being there Beta testers.
I'm giving Bioware 3 days, still having FPS issues then (well not FPS issues, just major game lag issues) i'm returning the game under the grounds it's a broken product, I advise you to do the same. The only way to get Biowares attetion (and EA's) is by making them feel it in the wallet.
i would like to here more thoughts on this?? anyone??
While I agree with dragonsmurf that there are safeguards in place to prevent potential issues with your hardware, both in the short and long term, I do try to take breaks from the game from time to time. Usually I game for an hour then give my rig 20 to 30 minutes to cool down. I have logged over 200 hours in the game thus far, yes I have no life outside of my job I don't want to hear about it, and my computer has yet to show any significant problem.
As long as you are not deliberately forcing your hardware to grind over its limits by such techniques as overclocking or overrides, it is very likely that you will be fine. Obiously if your computer starts shutting down durrign gameplay due to temperature overheat, its a good sign that you should hold off on the game until a patch comes out that optimizes the game. That or upgrade your rig.
Hope this helps.
