I do not want a remaster either, but I'd like an eventual update to be more compatible with newer operating systems (for both DAO and DAO Toolset). I can't stand how many issues going from Windows 10 to 11, and I was forced to Windows 11 essentially when my PC died.

I swear I get more crashes/glitches/bugs on Windows 11 than 10, and not everything works for the toolset anymore (major dialogue tweaks and adding plot entries for example) in Windows 11 as it cannot connect to the server/database. Playing and modding for this game gives me so much pleasure, and I do not want that diminishing.

I like the classic DAO graphics better than the newer stuff too, and I cannot stand uncanny valley graphics of newer games.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I completely understand where you're coming from, especially when this is a game you still enjoy playing and modding.

As this is an older game, we’re unable to guarantee full compatibility with newer operating systems or provide updates for every issue that may appear on modern setups. That said, the community may still be able to help with workarounds for specific problems related to Windows 11, crashes, etc.
