I found his supplies before I met him could that be the issue
I had this issue , think I have a solution. When I met him the first time I walked out of range when he introduced himself and I got the bug you are mentioning.
When I reloaded the auto save from the nearby camp, went back and made sure to let him finish it triggered correctly (I had found the research before meeting him)

I think you have a point, irt going out of range. I decided to get the Chantry thing and then went back. However, I'm too far past that point to check to see if that's my issue. Something to think about. The thing that grates is I've been especially careful not to get requisitions I couldn't fill this time. Now, I've got this dumb quest stuck in my log.

Same bug, have him as an agent and have killed the dragon, quest still in journal.
- I have the same problem. Hey EA the seems like a very simple patch. A lot of us are completionists and would like to see this resolved quickly. Stop counting your money for a second and help us out please.
Just reporting the same issue (recruited him, but quest is still there).
I have the same problem; in fact, I have a quest marker for a quest I never completed (capturing the Griffon Wing Keep) as well as a quest marker for Draconology (which is present on the map, but not on the mini-map).
I assume the problem is that I captured Griffon Wing Keep before completing Frederick's quest...
