Dragon Age 2 can't customize character AND can't register game

When I finish the interoggation cutscene and get to the part where I pick the different classes and gender, it immedaiately goes to the darkspawn battle after picking the gender/class instead of allo...

In origin I right click on the show game details button for dragon age 2. On the page that shows up it shows a product code. I enter that code into the register game page for dragon age 2 on bioware social but it says the code is not valid for game.
