Dragon Age 2: Unable to login

I'm sure everyone has been having this problem lately, and I've been scouring the internet for ways to fix this problem but to no avail.

I bought DA2 through origin, and currently have only downloaded the exalted prince dlc and the black emporium, which the game menu says it's installed, however, it has an asterisk next to it, which I soon found out meant that I needed to login to the servers as the dlc isn't authorised. I tried to log in and got the same message everyone has been getting

"Unable to connect to Dragon Age servers. Please try again later."

My passwords and logins are all correct, I even went out of my way to attempt to make a new account, but both of those options didn't work. I reinstalled DA2 again, and still nothing. I saw the solution about logging in through Dragon Age Origins, but that isn't viable for me as I am unable to have both games on my system at the same time (not enough disk space) so while that may work for some, it isn't going to work for me.

If I can't use the dlcs, it's fine, albeit a little disappointing, but fine, as I didn't actually pay for them since they're free on origin now, I just wanted to know if anyone had any solutions to this silly login problem that EA likely won't be fixing any time soon.
