I already owned all the content and used it on the old laptop. I've had it for years - so don't think it was EA play, but it's been a while.
@melendures That is okay. So with that error, that save def has content on it that the game does not recognize as installed. If you can play on one but not the other, that is typically just a bad install.
Or you don't actually own it like from EA Play or someone else's login but that would have entirely different errors along with yours.
So, let's do this since these are the easiest steps.
- Close down the EA app
- Go to C:\Program Files\EA Games (Or your respective install location)
- Delete ALL DLC folders with the games "addin" folder.
- I also suggest deleting the metadata folder as well
You can find a list of which folders belong to each DLC Here!
Folder Locations
- DAO: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dragon Age\addins
- DAII: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dragon Age II\addins
Once all folders have been deleted, you will want to perform the following steps. These are optional steps but they do help in resolving the issue.
Delete Windows Temp Files
- First, make sure you close as many programs as you can
- Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
- Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
- Delete everything it allows you to delete
- Reboot the PC
Optional Registry clean-up
- install CCleaner (it's free) from here
- Run Registry cleaner
- Click review selected issues
- Do you want to back up? No
- Click Fix all selected issues
Finally
- Make sure the EA app and Steam are closed.
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
- Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
- Delete all files within this folder.
Once all the steps above have been performed, log back into the EA app repair the game, or just install the DLC again.
Side note: when you get into the game, make sure your account is logged in.

@EA_Shepardthis did not work for me. i was using the steam edition. could not get it to work. i then uninstalled it from steam and used the ea app. still no luck.even used the ccleaner.
The only thing i can think of is my old account is under a different email account. the main here on this forum. i bought the ultimate edition on steam and it is using my new email. both platforms are under this new email and they are linked.
and no matter what i seem to do i cannot get it to authorize on either platform.
