'ueppa80's solution is working for me too.
Yesterday my CPU (4770k) temp was approx. 80°C after 2 hours playing. I noticed that not during my gaming session, but i saw the temp going down rapidly after closing the game. Had no errors though, only the case was really hot.
So today i found this topic and updated my Z87 board to the latest UEFI firmware. Now i have played for 2 hours. Max-temp was 55°C, like every other game so far.
I'm trying to keep my drivers up to date, but forgot the bios update over at least a year. Thanks for that tipp!
