Dragon age Inquisition - "tampered executable" message at start up

Since Sunday I have been getting the following error message when starting DAI.

"We have detected you are running a tampered excecutable. Please run the original executable."

I have not knowingly done anything to DAI that would alter the code. I have uninstalled DAI and downloaded the whole package again including the DLC.

That should have got rid of this message, but I am still seeing it.

Has anybody else had this problem and do you have a solution?

Regards

Phil

  • Well I had all sorts of interesting problems after a clean boot......BBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTT.. it would appear to have been  an issue with Trusteer Rapport read on

I don't know if any one else has had this problem so, I'm going to tell you what happened so you don't get discouraged.

I did the clean boot as per David's suggestion. This shut down TR as well as other programmes. When the 'puter was restarted the error message was still showing. GRRRRRRRRRR. So not a happy bunny at all. Then I could not restart TR. So that was uninstalled and re-installed.Still would not start. Still that message. At this point i was ready to teach my machine how to fly. So I left it for a few hours.

Coming back to the problem later, I was able to enable TR through services.msc by attaching it to the local service. Restart. Bob's your uncle. No error msg.

David, thank you for your help.

@Phil_H Hey, have you used any mods at all?

Can you try restarting your machine with a Clean Boot? Perhaps there's a 3rd party program running that's triggering the alert.

The only mods I have on DAI are the official DLC.

I will try a clean boot and see what happens.

The message doesn't prevent the game from loading provided you only click on the expand button in the window frame.
