Dragon Age Inquisition EXTREMELY low frame rate (PC)

So I've had Inquisition for some time now, and I had always thought it was a bit slow, but I was looking at the little benchmark thing under "extras"  in the main menu and I was like, "what's the little benchmark thing?" and so I did it, and learned that my FPS is EXTREMELY low, it said my average FPS is 8.7 and the minimum FPS is 7.2. So, I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem, and according to, like, five minutes of googling, I found nothing. I have the Razer Cortex thing, and have disabled Origin in game, and nothing really changes. Here's all the system stuff or whatever that I don't understand:

Model: Satellite C75D-B

Processor (I really don't understand this part): AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics  2.00 GHz

RAM: 8.00 GB (6.96 GB usable)

System Type: 64-Bit operating system, x64-based processor

I also have other games, Skyrim, Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, Dragon Age 2, Farcry 4, and Ultima 8 (because it was free on Origin. With this I also have Nexus mod manager, along with 91 mods (which I think is a lot but oh wellll). I'm not sure if any of this matters but if anyone can figure it out then your time would be greatly appreciated.

  • You're going to have a lot of issues running the game without any dedicated graphics. Your processor also falls below the minimum requirements for an AMD (Quad core @ 2.5 GHz)

An "R5" is a low end device, quite unlike a mid-level R7, or a high level R9.  This game needs the higher rated options from the mid-level (R7 - 260 and upward, DESKTOP video, as I recall).

From the official Dragon Age website, the requirements are:

    Minimum PC Specs

    OS: Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64-bit
    CPU: AMD quad-core CPU @2.5 GHz / Intel quad-core CPU @2.0 GHz
    System RAM: 4 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 4870 / NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
    Graphics Card Memory: 512 MB
    Hard Drive Space: 26 GB
    DirectX 10

(I verified that neither the R7 250, nor the 250X was as powerful as the 4870.  I have no recommendations for laptops to make.  I am negative toward those as game platforms for many reasons, not the least being total lack of standards.)

Just for fun, I tried to run the game off my integrated graphics (Intel HD 4600 on a core i5 4690K). To my surprise it was actually playable at 1280x720 on the lowest setting. It wasn't very pleasant though. (Note: The Intel HD 4600 can't run Knights of the Old Republic, a game from 2003, on the highest settings without framedrops at 1920x1080.)

But even on my Radeon R9 270X I find performance in this game to be a bit lacking on high settings. Wooded areas are especially problematic, but at least I get a consistent 60fps in desert and indoors areas. I would consider the R9 series to be the minimum you should aim for during this generation.

Your question was answered.  That video is just too slow for this game.
