Something should trigger at the 50% health part, apparently it's not doing so. Can you try a full restart of your system, then try again?
Does reloading from the Skyhold milestone save help?

Hi, so far that has not helped. Will try again, already run through twice without success.

I somehow managed to get the trigger by running down the stairs, corypheus was just having hiccups until i reached bottom, then the dragon cutscene triggered.

Hello David,
I am having the same issue on the PS4 version; when the final boss's health reaches about 50 percent the game screen goes dark then loads for a few minutes before reappearing with the boss glitching. I have tried reloading multiple saves, restarts, and even gone back several hours to change choices companions etc. all well with no success. The video I made unfortunately refuses to upload. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
David R. Robell
Had this exact thing happen when I one-shotted him down to below half health with my Tempest.
SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME:
The boss is scripted, but does not have the fail-safe that other bosses in the game have, so instead of becoming invincible between "forms" he can be zerged to death before he has gone through all of his stages. Therefore if you kill him before his "final form" the game will bug out.
Lowering the DPS, and inching him down little at a time should do the trick.
For me, using the Tempest focus attack broke it for me since it took away 2/3 of his health at once, thus bypassing two of his "forms" leaving him humping the air like in the video posted above.

SPOILER:
SPOILER:
He has a couple of forms, and the fight takes a break at a point where you instead have to fight his dragon. After the dragon is dead the boss fight continues, and his final form starts with a cut-scene where he is standing and charging up his red orb. This is your green-light to go all out and kill him.
Hope this helped!
Bests
Neo.

Yep, running down 3 flights of stairs worked for me as well triggering the dragon cut-away and allowing me to finish beating him, much appreciated.

I had the same issue. My tempest archer can regularly break the final battle. I was able to finish the battle by not using fire/thousand cuts. I was doing just ridiculous amounts of damage with that skill. I think the amount of damage messed with the scripted events. When I just did regular attacks I was able to progress through the battle.
