Dragon Age: Inquisition for Mac OS X

When will there be a Mac OS X version? Why was the Mac version not included with the release? I refuse to buy a "PC" just to play a game, no matter how long I have waited for the Inquisition.

The Fortsbite 3 engine which drives Dragon Age Inquisition is currently not compatible with OS X.

You don't have to buy a PC, however. A license of Windows 7 should suffice if your mac is up to spec.

Edit: As stated below by Gorath, you can use software like Boot Camp to dual boot OsX and Windows.

Well, this is a disappointing answer.

What's wrong with OpenGL? If you'd written the engine in it, it'd be far easier to port to OS X and Linux alike.

Apple's hardware isn't actually overpriced -- in fact, for what you get, it's often quite reasonable,[1] especially with an educational discount. Saying to a large percentage of your customers "you're just wrong" is a foolish idea from a business point of view, and, frankly, rather insulting.

You released DA1 for OS X -- albeit with quite a lot of exceptionally nasty DRM that I also resent. Why not DA2?

When I got a mac pro for the lab a few years ago it was because I couldn't even buy the two xeon processors for the same price as the whole thing with educaitonal discount. A more recent example would be the "retina" (5k) iMac, which games at 2440p quite happily, and is only $500 more than the price of the display alone from dell.
