Got the disc error again at 85% ish on disc 3 and had to re-insert the disc and click on try again for it to continue. I left the error message up again, and at 88% the installation paused, so I changed to disc 4 and it automatically started copying again. The error disappeared and copying is at 90% now.
I guess you just have to re-insert current disc and click on retry when you get disc errors, or change discs if this doesn't work. 33%(disc 2), 66%(disc 3), 88%(disc 4). PC version. Cancelling or downloading game will probably cause you to start over.
Big hassle... Have to remember to never un-install this game ever so that I don't have to go through this again...
Honestly... I am seeing red right now.
Disc 1 fails as with everyone else's issue. Going offline does not resolve. Popping/cleaning/reinserting the disc does not resolve. Putting in one of the other discs gets me past disc 1. That was after about an hour of banging my head against the desk in frustration and several crashes of the Origin client.
Disc 2 installs with no particular issue. I finally think I'm past this thing.
Disc 3 installs to the 80% mark, then seems to struggle like disc 1. I pop it out and back in and it resumes. ComponentFault crosses his fingers. Origin client crashes.
Attempts to resume from where I left off fail, so I reinsert disc 1 and it starts ALL OVER AGAIN. I am currently at 11%.
How does the world's largest game company have such an incredible QA failure? This is one of the most anticipated games of the year. I also live rural and my internet is wireless... a 24 GB download is just not viable for me. That's why I went with media in the first place.
Unreal. Still... not... able... to... restrain... anger...
