Dragon age inquisition is slow

Hello fellow strangers!

I was really enjoying playing Dragon age inquisition but the game is so slow! Everything is so slow! The cuts scenes,my inquisitor and the party are running slowly, the background, even when i click on some stuff like my setting or to go back in the game.. i tried everything i could! repair the game, putting everything in the graphics at the lowest I've tried lowering the resolution, disabling antivirus, running as administrator, the game is still slow.. I don't know what to do anymore Please help!

  • Cold hard facts here....

Your PC is a Business model from 2011, three years older than the game.  DAI when it came out was actually a pretty demanding game, and even now some low end systems can't run it well.  Your PC just isn't up to the task of running the game well.  Your I7 chip is good, as long as it remains cool, BUT it is just barely above minimum specs, which means doing ok ONLY on low settings.  Now to the bad news, the HD 6470M video chip is mediocre at best for 2011, and really doesn't meet the min specs to play the game.

CPU boss comparison at the link of your chip vs minimum graphics card....http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-6470M-vs-GeForce-8800-GS

So pretty much your machine is doing all it can, and you are probably getting the best it can do, and nothing in settings, programs, or tweaks will make it much better.  Honestly, if you want to game on PC, then buy either a gaming laptop or buy/build a desktop for gaming.

You also have ashwooka.dll listed in crash report which is Avast/AVG interfering with the game....I assume you did something such as putting in exclusions to let the game run otherwise you would probably be here asking for why it blackscreens and crashes....

So to recap....buy a better computer to get better performance, because the one you have was designed for business...aka, slide shows, minor video watching, surfing the web, and not gaming.

  • Starting point, is to let us know what you are playing on.  I assume PC, since you said you changed settings, so specs, but more importantly a DxDiag file so we can see hardware, drivers and recent errors.  There are many things that can cause slow running, from low end machine to mods, to background processes.  There hasn't been one thing in this game to cause this, and I would say this is a rare issue....so more info...

If you need to know how to post a DxDiag, then check the How to post needed info sticky thread at the top of this forum.
