Dragon Age Inquisition keeps freezing, no error messages (PC)

I've been having this problem for the past week and it is driving me nuts, it's making the game simply unplayable.
The game launches just fine however after more or less 5 to 15 minutes in game, the game simply freezes. No messages or anything. The sound keeps playing for a minute or so and then goes away.

I have tried everything, re installed the game, repaired it, played with the graphics settings etc. but nothing, it just keeps happening and I have zero way of knowing why.

My specs are:

CPU: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0, 4200 MHz

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: Radeon R9 280X

Windows 8.1 64

    Hey there,

I am sorry to hear you are having this problem... I am right there with you.  im running the 990 fx asus board with a 290FX card and 16gigs ram.  freezing seems to happen at any random interval... not on anything in particular.  It's quite a bummer, and I am wondering if its happened to you on other games as well?

It's surely a 'normal' DX crash. Press Control Alt Supr next time it freezes and look in the Windows taskbar if it shows something about that.

Been having the same problem also. Three times today alone. My keyboard and mouse are also frozen. Game has become unplayable. Should I go in and delete all saved games and just start over or delete the game entirely and reinstall it?

@Marcus_Killsalot A dxdiag is a good place to start from. In the meantime, are you using any mods? If so, try getting rid of them, see if that helps. Try repairing your game (right click on it in Origin and select 'repair game'), far less downloading required than a full reinstall.
