Hey, thanks for answering my call for help! I am using no mods, and I did monitor my cpu while playing the game. Nothing of note happening there, just EA and DAI active and DAI will sometimes go up to 50%.
I attached my dxdiag here. I did just have a bunch of repairs done to the pc a year or so ago but I played at least 25 hours of DAI with it since then and never had any issues. This only just started happening.
At first I thought it was an issue caused by hooking up wiith HDMI to my TV but I took all of that out of the equation too and still have all the same issues.
The AppHangB1 error in your DxDiag is often driver related and the driver of your GTX 970 is very old, so lets start there.
- Download the newest driver for your GTX970 from NVIDIA
- Follow this manual to the letter to cleanly uninstall all NVIDIA components.
- Install the graphics driver > Go online.
- Test.

Ok so that has definitely improved the things, but we are still experiencing a lot of lagging and freezing when moving around. The sound is still getting static also, but is working better overall. I'd say since updating the graphics driver the situation has improved by about 50%?
Still having to wait quite a bit while the game seems to catch up though. So not quite playable at this point.

In laptops, the dedicated GPU and the CPUs graphic APU work together.
So I would suggest to renew the graphic driver for the Intel GPU as well.
You can find the driver here on this intel page.
Make also sure that your games run on the NVIDIA GPU and not on the Intel GPU.
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings.
- Go to the ab "Program Settings" Tab > Search for "Dragon Age Inquisition" in the first drop down menu.
- Go to: "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program" > Select the NVIDIA High Performance Graphicprocessor > Apply.
If this setting is missing look at this guide.

I can't thank you enough for all of your help!
At this point I'd say we are about 75% better? I was able to do a bit of moving around, but there is still a lot of lagging when talking to characters and at the inquisition table. I can actually move around now though and that's something! I haven't dared to try any thing further.
Any suggestions on what can be done next? I find it interesting that when I check in on the Intel website, Microsoft Etc everything says my drivers are up to date but they're very clearly not 😅
